3D model created in Maya and ZBrush, and rendered in Modo. Some images and textures created in Photoshop and Illustrator were converted into normal maps for the model using xNormal. The design of the character was my own work, but the props were mainly built from photo reference. The creation of the model from the base mesh to the render to the finished video was my own work as well.
This model is a character built out of approximately 60 different props that I completed while pursuing my master's degree in Animation. If I had this project to do over again I would definitely have painted texture maps for this rather than using all procedurals, or at the very least added a couple of grunge layers.
A turn around of this model is included in my longer “March 2014 Demo Reel” as well, but a simple turn around doesn’t really do this model justice. As such, this video shows the model not only completing turn arounds, but breaking apart into the multitude of props that the character is composed of.

Art Grad Girl
Low poly base mesh created in Maya. High poly details sculpted in ZBrush. Texture maps painted in Mudbox and Photoshop. Turntable rendered and animated in Modo. Video produced in After Effects. This model was entirely my own work from the original design to the finished video.
High Poly Sculpting
High Poly 3D sculpt of Szeth-Son-Son-Vallano based on the character design by Ben McSweeney in Brandon Sanderson's novel The Way of Kings. Low poly base meshes modeled in Maya with high poly sculpting and rendering completed in ZBrush.
Original creature design sculpted in ZBrush. Animated and rendered in ZBrush. I completed all work on this project.
High poly sculpt in ZBrush. Base mesh modeled in Maya.
Low Poly Modeling
Low Poly Female Character Clothing - in Progress
Wireframe view of a low poly outfit that I’m modeling. This project is still in progress, so the colors in the image are in no way to be considered as final textures, nor are there any normal maps applied to the clothing to show high poly details.
The 3D clothing was created in Marvelous Designer and/or Maya. Wireframe turn around was animated and rendered in Blender.
Low Poly Turn Around
3D model completed in Maya and ZBrush. Wireframe turn around animation rendered in Blender.
"Amazing Adventure" 8-Bit Dragon Turn Around
Turn Around of a 3D creature model that I created for the animated short "Amazing Adventure" by Danny Clark. Contributors to the thumbnail image include Danny Clark, Einar Masson, Lindsay Johnson, Dan Valvo, and me.
Please view the animated short "Amazing Adventure" to see the 8-bit style dragon and princess models that I built for the project. Both of those models were rigged, animated, and included in the final scenes of the short by the animator and director of the project: Danny Clark.
